We’re just days away from Samsung’s Unpacked IFA event, where the Note 4 will take the stage to reveal itself before the waiting public. And to help make sure the crowd is suitably pumped-up, Samsung’s been dropping Note 4 teaser video after Note 4 teaser video, going back more than a week now. At first they were very non-specific, just conjuring up memories of the Note line in general, but then the next wave of clips started mentioning the Note 4 by name. Yesterday, Samsung did one better, and in another stylus-focused video, depicts its iconic S Pen sliding into what we can only assume is the new Note 4.
Unfortunately, this is just a silhouette of the phone (not unlike the images Sony’s been using for its own teasers), so there’s precious little to actually see here – and we’re not about to go counting pixels and working out dimensions.
It’s not without information, though, and suggests we’ll be seeing a S Pen that’s largely unchanged from the Note 3′s. That’s relevant for us now, as we spotted a very Note-3-looking S Pen in a recent video hands-on purporting to show a (lunchboxed) Note 4; should we be taking this as corroborating evidence?
Maybe, maybe not. The fact of the matter is, this is a marketing video, and while it’s noteworthy (no pun intended) to see Samsung get more comfortable making references to the Note 4 in the days leading up to the launch, we wouldn’t necessarily expect to confirm many technical details in still-quite-vague teasers like this one.
In a separate rumor, we hear a little about a possible retail date for the Note 4, suggesting that sales could begin as soon as this Saturday, September 6.
