Motorola’s got a lot in its pipeline right now. We’re expecting new Moto X and Moto G models later thisVerizon maybe getting some new Droid-series handsets. Now that’s feeling like an increasingly likely outcome, as the long-dormant DroidLanding Twitter account springs back to life.
week, and rumors have been wild about the possibility of Motorola hardware forming the basis for Google’s next Nexus phone, as well as maybe some of the early Android Silver lineup. While these devices have captured much of our Motorola attention, we’ve also heard a little about
You may recall we saw the return of DroidLanding last June, following twenty months of silence. While it started out promoting an online AR game, it wasn’t long before we learned what it was really preparing us for, as that July brought us the Motorola Droid Ultra, Maxx, and Mini (above). After a few more months of activity, the account shut down again in December, and now it’s finally back in action.
What does this spell for us? Like we mentioned, those rumors about new Droid-series phones on Verizon sound like strong (now even stronger) possibilities, but even there we find a lot of unknowns; are we looking at another trio of new devices, or maybe a more reserved offering of just a couple? Will Verizon keep us guessing for a month like it did last summer, or could formal announcements be coming this week, as part of that Motorola event? There are quite a few ways this could go, but Verizon’s certainly managed to pique our interest, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for what develops next.
