Microsoft's anticipated selfie-focused smartphone, expected to be called
Lumia 730 and announced at the company's September 4 event, has been spotted at the FCC and a Chinese certifications site -
tipping more details about the yet-to-be-announced handset.
Nokia
Power User, citing a Chinese FCC equivalent through which the phone has reportedly
passed, claims the Lumia 730 (RM-1038) will come with support for 4G
LTE; Nano SIM, Qi Wireless charging, and microSD card. The site also
suggests the height and width of the alleged Lumia 730 will be 134.7mm
and 68.5mm respectively; though there is no word about thickness.
The
site has also posted a diagram of the alleged Lumia 730 components
visible through the rear panel, such as the battery and camera with Carl
Zeiss branding.
Phone Arena has also cited an FCC listing for a smartphone with model number RM-1038, which very few
specifications, but corroborates those apparently listed on the Chinese
FCC equivalent. It is also seen to support NFC.
Last week, the
Redmond giant started
sending invites for a September 4 event in Berlin, Germany. The
company also teased an orange (same colour as the leaked component image
seen above) image that said, "Ready for more" and "Join us for more
face time."
Microsoft's rumoured selfie-focused smartphone was also reportedly shown off at an internal company meeting by
Stephen Elop last month. Recently, the rumoured Lumia 730 was leaked by a
Vietnamese retailer - tipping the handset's design, pricing, and specifications.
According
to the leaked specifications, the unannounced Lumia 730 is likely to
feature a 4.7-inch HD display and will come with dual-SIM support. Under
the hood, the anticipated selfie-focused handset is expected to be
powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor alongside Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB
of RAM. It would sport a 6.7-megapixel rear camera and would feature a
5-megapixel front-facing camera, which will be the highlight of the
rumoured device.
In addition to the rumoured Lumia 730, Microsoft
is also said to be working on another Lumia smartphone flaunting the "Nokia by Microsoft"
branding, dubbed Lumia 830.
